There are many definitions and uses of the term ‘Social Sustainability’. For the purpose of United Human Perspective, we shall take those words and apply them at face value. Social–All manner of interpersonal interaction and relationship from the dyad and outward to larger and larger groupings, which is naturally contingent upon environmental concerns. Sustainability–The ability to support and maintain process(es) over time, especially those that protect and enhance life-nurturing conditions on planet Earth. Social Sustainability, then becomes the ability to support and maintain all manner of interpersonal interaction and relationship over time that protects and enhances ecosystems. Add in UHP mission and values, then Social Sustainability transforms into the ability to support and maintain societal Wellness and Cooperation in accordance with Freedom, Respect, Love and Safety at all levels and types of relationship, for the benefit and well-being of All.
A guide and wisdom repository for social sustainability, shall include information on modern day best practices for environmental sustainability. It shall also include information on relationship development Wisdom along with current entities who champion social sustainability in their own unique ways.
A socially sustainable relationship is imbued with Wellness and Cooperation as a manifestation of freedom, respect, love and safety. The building blocks of largescale cooperative movements have always been the result of incremental relationship building between individuals. If two people can manifest a close-to-ideal socially sustainable relationship, then they have unbelievable power to transfer much of their knowledge and behavior to others–thereby stimulating activity that further develops social sustainability and pro-sustainability behavior!

One practical application of UHP started in the mountains of West Virginia. There, a brown liberal new-comer befriended an established confederate flag-flying white conservative. Together, they are becoming more aware of their shared humanity and shared values. Together, they are crafting a cooperative path forward despite their differences. With one smile and handshake at a time, they are opening eyes and turning heads in their small corner of the world. Along with other bridge-builders throughout the ages, who will be honored, they show that United Human Perspective can actively promote socio-economic cooperation and Unity among individuals despite stark ideological differences.
